Apostle St Bartholomew

Royuela celebrates its fiestas honouring Saint Bartholomew on August 24th. Around this date a series of religious and festive acts are organized in order to preserve tradition and to make Royuela the Sierra’s festive centre.

Of special relevance are the Taking over of the Charges and the distribution of bread and wine, the encierros and the bulls with protective and burning balls on their horns and the open-air dancings, all part of a varied programme for children and adults.

If you come around these days you will find the hospitality of the villagers and will share a truly festive atmosphere with them.
